Every year, Podere Pendolino dresses up for the holidays. The credit for this transformation goes to our Rosy, Patrizio Cartocci’s wife, who has been curating the Albatros catering and restaurant for years. Podere Pendolino is treated like an old farmhouse, with a portico, terracotta floors throughout, stone, and a vast lawn with olive trees and typical plants: the Christmas decorations are an added touch to convey the warmth of hospitality. Families have always been the heart and soul of our restaurant, so we like to accommodate even the little ones, who celebrate their first ceremonies with us, giving them a fairytale experience. Here’s the Christmas tree, the numerous puppets, the colored baubles, the lights inside and outside the farmhouse: in short, a memorable experience. This year, there’s an extra touch: we’ve reused the old olive harvest ladder used by our elders; How many hours spent climbing that humble wooden ladder, women and men alike; how many jokes, laughter, and curses must have been heard when things took a turn for the worse, who knows? Now many of these dear people, who contributed to the development of our olive grove, are physically in heaven but always live among us in spirit and heart.
